The Instructor
Katie is a certified art teacher with decades of experience working with people of all ages to help them discover their artistic talents. A military spouse of 21 years, Katie has taught in Asia, Europe, and the United States, fueling her passion for incorporating multicultural themes and practices into her art lessons. She has a long history in both public and private schools over the years, with the past 4 years spent as West Navarre Intermediate School's art teacher. She currently teaches art and phys. ed. classes part-time at Navarre Montessori Academy.
Artistic Influences
As a 3-D sculptor with a love for clay and anything textural, Katie's passion shines through her work. She is also a big fan of colorful artworks found in Impressionistic, Expressionistic, and Abstract art styles. As an added bonus, all of her lessons spotlight artists, styles, and cultures from around the world to help inspire students as they embark on their own artistic journey. These combined influences help shape her approach to both creating and teaching art.
