The Instructor
Katie is a Florida state certified art teacher with decades of experience. She works with people of all ages and abilities to help them discover and enhance their artistic talents. A military spouse of 21 years, Katie has taught in Asia, Europe, and the United States, fueling her passion for incorporating multicultural themes and practices into her art lessons. She has a long history in both public and private schools over the years. In the local area, she has spent this past year as the art teacher for Navarre Montessori Academy, and the prior 4 years as West Navarre Intermediate School's art teacher.
Artistic Influences
As a 3-D sculptor with a love for clay and anything textural, Katie's passion shines through her work. She is also a big fan of colorful artworks found in Impressionistic, Expressionistic, and Abstract art styles. As an added bonus, her lessons spotlight artists, styles, and cultures from around the world to help inspire students as they embark on their own artistic journey. These combined influences help shape her approach to both creating and teaching art.

Katie's teaching approach is all about providing specific guidance tailored to the individual. She takes the time to listen, encourage, and work with each student to help them visualize and then create their own unique expression of art.
